What To Expect...

Optimized Learning contains 180 mini-lessons to help teachers in grades 3-8 transform their students into confident, capable and collaborative SELF-DIRECTED LEARNERS. During this webinar, I will describe the process students follow while working independently or collaboratively in class in order to improve their self-direction. In addition, I will show you the basic process for teaching the mini-lessons to your students.

Key Takeaways:

Students follow the seven steps in the Student-Led Self-Improvement (SLSI) Process in order to identify all of their responsibilities while learning: Planning, Metacognition, Synthesis, Reflection, Self-Assessment, Goal Setting and Feedback.

Students apply the seven steps in the SLSI Process during Learning Cycles where they complete an assignment from your curriculum alone or with a partner WHILE completing an 8-page packet that guides their thinking and actions.

The ultimate goal of Optimized Learning is to have students independently transfer these skills to future experiences.
